    Supercapacitors anyone?

The 1N4007 diodes have a forward voltage of about 0.7V. Unlike the schottky of approx 0.3V. Martin

How to debug this sound COB circuit?

Show a picture of the back side of the board. There must be a common connection on that strip somewhere. Martin

    Supercapacitors anyone?

The ‘add a circuit’ fuse adapter is connected to what circuit? Some sensitive circuits clamp down to avoid surges or voltage spikes. Try a different circuit like side lights for example. These should work with ignition off. But I’d still go directly to the battery. If you’re on a circuit via...

How to? XH-M603 charge controller to charge auxillary battery in van?

In theory, it could work. Watch this video carefully. Martin

    Supercapacitors anyone?

I’d keep it simple and be inclined to run directly from the battery and an inline fuse. Plus switch if needed. You can buy aux fuse boxes for this this very scenario. Martin

    Old turntable old axial electrolytic

Replace the old capacitor. It may not leak directly onto the PCB but it sure can go short circuit. Is it worth not doing? Martin

    Reduce LED Brightness

And the load being just the LEDs?. According to the data sheet, the resistor is internal. And it’s 24VDC. Kind of OTT for just two LEDs. So add another series resistor. Martin

    KLH 100 table radio manual

You can try this download here. I have not tried so cannot verify. The KLH200 is supposed to be the same except for 1 speaker. Martin

    Turbovac driver

https://www.idealvac.com/files/ManualsII/Leybold_NT10_Operating_Instructions.pdf I read in the link that it converts single phase to three phase. I’ll leave this to the experts here. Martin

    Reduce LED Brightness

If your panel indicatators are indeed 24V, they are probably AC or DC compatible. But as @Bluejets already stated, a resistor is one way. For a 2.8V LED @ 15mA, a 1.5KΩ half watt resistor is required. As we don’t know what resistor is in place now or how bright your liking is, you can add...

Alt tester newby needs help plz

Yes, that’s what @bertus said. A centre tapped transformer. Meaning 12-0-12. So 0-12 for 12V or 12-12 for 24V (if it is). The max output current would be difficult to say. Measure the dimensions and look up similar sizes. But going larger won’t hurt as the load is already there. Martin

Alt tester newby needs help plz

Actually, that switch is probably a double pole. Anyway, the transformer is 110VAC input. It reduces the voltage to 12VAC. The diodes rectify the AC to DC. The 12VDC input is direct. I don’t understand what is happening with the resistors or capacitors. Obviously a load, but how it’s wired is...

Alt tester newby needs help plz

I doubt that your drawing is correct. It won’t have AC 110V connected to DC 12V via the same switch as you show. I suspect it’s a 12V (110V-12V) transformer given the fact it has a 12VDC input. But..... use a multimeter to measure voltages when it’s powered by the 12V jack. You might be better...

Mini hi voltage generator dc input or ac input?

These ones Clive plays with are great. I bought 16 some months back. Running from 4 D cells, they really do pack a punch.

Replacement LED for Guitar Effects Pedal (Ibanez Tone-Lok CF7)

No, you are putting the probes on the same solder pad. Have a look on YouTube for ‘how to use a multimeter. Edit: I’ll find one and link it here... hold on. Martin

Replacement LED for Guitar Effects Pedal (Ibanez Tone-Lok CF7)

You should be able to simply put your meter probes on the LED while in diode mode. The LED should illuminate. If not, reverse the probes and try again. This can be done without de-soldering anything. Just try it. Martin

    Replacement Sankyo VA700B02 motor

Hi Ken, seems like this motor has long been discontinued. There appears to be some joy here with a replacement. A Mabuchi RF-310T-11400. Hopefully it can get you going in the right direction. The specs he has are 12V for the same VA700B02 motor though. Certainly worth a read. Martin
