    Again, your explanation and photo doesn’t tell us much. Is this cable terminated with a DC barrel jack and crocodile clips only?. No other ‘box’ in between?. Use your multimeter to check each wire for continuity then swap the probes and check again. Martin

    Short answer is yes you can provided the motor is 12 volt. As it had no markings on either motor, we don’t know for sure. Also running at 100% is not a good idea for any component. Martin

    @Roofermom You’ll need to start a new thread rather than ask in a 9 year old post. It is possible but you’ll also need to change the 6V motor along with any other 6V components. This assumes it’s a 6V electric bike with a 6V motor and not an engine. Martin

    I personally wouldn’t go with that. I would go with a computer PSU (ATX) type for the 12V, 5V and 3.3V but keep the laptop PSU (19V) separate. No real reason other than gut feeling. Martin

    A very popular misconception. You can’t supply current. The device will take what it needs. Using a 10A adapter on a 1A device will be absolutely fine. The device will draw what it needs.     Without knowing your setup, 3 things can be at fault. 1. Power adaptor (if it has one). 2. Control box 3. LED strip You replaced the control box so leaves only 2 more things that can be faulty. If it doesn’t have a power adapter, that leaves only 1 item, the LED strip. Martin
