Looking for schematic diagram/service manual of Toshiba Combi TV/DVD

Yes its a Celtic language, but so is Irish, Welsh, Manx and I believe a few others. How about Martaine, Martin?

Tha fios agam is Scottish Gaelic (similar to Irish Gaelic) meaning: "I know" or "I get it" literal translation would be; The understanding at me. But feel free to call me John.

No, maybe late 80's? Anyway, if he's a tech he knows to check power supply.

Looks like a sm fuse. Finding schematics is often fruitless these days. Even if you find one, its probably an obscure /obsolete microcontroller that has failed. Gee I miss the 70's when everything was discrete components.

what AWG cable to use for cordless drill + car battery

Like you said, there are too many factors to answer this. The physical load applied, and the gear reduction of the drill motor are likely the most important. The op has not replied to give more details, so to further contemplate the possibilities is pointless. Perhaps he has come to realize...

what AWG cable to use for cordless drill + car battery

I agree, the meter needs a separate power source for it's display. I also agree, the peak current would probably only be for a few seconds to get the gate rolling. So a smaller gauge could be used. Although its fun to imagine the possibilities, I can't fathom this drill motor/car battery idea...

what AWG cable to use for cordless drill + car battery

Natural a fuse would be used to limit current, but I could also see the motor being overloaded by exceeding its horsepower rating.

what AWG cable to use for cordless drill + car battery

I saw a youtube video showing the current draw of a DeWalt drill motor near 40a, So, #8 would be good provided it's not too far away. That said, the idea of using a drill motor and car battery is not feasible. The cost of the cable alone would cost too much.

    Battery charger diagram

If a google search of a digram was not fruitful; Second thing I would do, is add a fuse block with a 2 or 3 amp fuse to incoming line 86 and land B2 on the load side. Looks like B2 changes primary taps for 6/12v option. Then, W1 white to B1(other side of primary). Then B5 to B3 (neg?) and...

Depends on current and voltage drop consideration

    Flyback transformer spark

It's worth cautioning the use of a hv probe, and not a multimeter to measure the high side. Your meter and test leads are likely rated for <600v, not the 25kv or more going to the crt.

    AC Compressor blowing fuse

That might be across the relay coil. I would want the diode right at the clutch where the connector plugs in. Another thing to look for, is wiring that might have been melted by touching any hot metal, or perhaps rubbing on a pulley or belt.

Is this because of reverse leakage current thru the diode?

Trying to find a vibration or sound sensing switch / circuit

Thanks Adam. I was expecting something like a MOV across the compressor (inductive load), to minimize transient spikes that'd feed back to the power rail and your transistor circuit. Which raises a few questions for me; Why the rc (snubber) circuit instead of a blocking diode? I realize it...

Trying to find a vibration or sound sensing switch / circuit

Wouldn't it be wise to add additional suppression, aside from the relay diode? I'd be worried about a spike when the compressor motor turns off. Speaking to simplicity...I suppose a temp switch would not achieve what you want?
