How can I test a xlr charging port

Measure the voltage at the battery terminals with/without the charger connected. You should see a change in voltage. Let us know what this is. Similarly, disconnect the batteries and measure the voltage at the wires (charger on) and let us know the result too. Your 'new' changer may have...

Debris under base of Sony Projection TV

If the main lamp blows look to spend a minimum of $100 on a replacement though! This may be why it's been junked - $100 goes a long way towards a decent flat screen TV of a similar size these days - and without the inconvenience of life-limited projection lamps.

    Light chaser

You can gate the signal from the 555 to the 4017 to interrupt the clock and keep the LED status 'as-is' - equally you could switch the 'clock inhibit' line of the 4017 (pin 13) to achieve the same result.

Interfacing NCN5130 with a cortex MO processor

Seriously? This is about the communication protocol, not the hardware, and comms software (.c and .h files) are available just about everywhere. Your gratuitous use of: **REMOVED** makes your post sound suspiciously like spam advertising........ Reported - I'd like another opinion...

There is also the virtual earth method using an op-amp to derive a split-rail DC supply from a single battery.

Older 40" Samsung TV to play around with! Score!!

It's actually not easy to get a cheap isolating transformer these days. Heck, I've been trying for weeks to find one myself! eBay is the usual source (for me) but it's not the right time of year (I reckon). I used to use a pair of industrial 240:110 (site transformer) wired back-to-back but...

Is it possible to replace keyboard LEDs with neon indicators and a single inverter?

They can be connected in parallel - use a series resistor with each (in the MΩ range) to balance the voltage/current draw.

Debris under base of Sony Projection TV

There's nothing under there anyway. What you show is the 'foot' of the set which is fixed externally to the set itself.

    8051 to arduino uno

Best not even to think along 'comparison' lines. Simply approach the Arduino as an entirely different device and start from scratch. You know what input and outputs you require, all you have to do is develop the software to join them up! But the Arduino has many I/O modules available for it...

    T8 - LED shop lighting

My in-laws were going to fit those filament LED bulbs and needed around 40. I offered to get them direct from China for less than 1/4 the price they were being retailed at here in the UK. They refused my offer as they said their supplier offered a 3 year warranty on them - which they DID hold...

Help with a connector (Newb Question)

The odds on you ever dismantling the gear any time soon are remote so I'd go for a neat soldering job and box it up.

You might have got lucky with the suppliers! Since their introduction there's no escaping the fact that less-than-perfect devices are finding their way onto the market and it's almost impossible to sort the wheat from the chaff. I reckon the earlier you bought them the less likelihood they'll...

Yeah, but try to prove it. They'll insist (and I mean INSIST) that irrefutable evidence of on-time, installation date etc and that such a test/measurement is done by an approved/registered service (i.e. costly) and if you're wrong you not only don't get the refund for the services rendered you...

A good investment is an isolating transformer. Ideally your whole workshop would run from it but using a smaller version is more cost effective and allows you to power individual items via it. One rated at around 300W should cover most situations.

I-pad model Android 9020A (With ATT logo)

can you get to the 'settings' page and delete the Google sync program (after stopping it, clearing its data cache etc)? It seems to be defaulting to the 'sync' process at startup but should still allow access to other parts of the OS.

    DSC Pc300 keypad

What connections is it between the keypad and circuit board (ribbon cable, plug/socket etc)? Can you short two of those connections together to 'force' a key entry condition? This would eliminate the keypad/ribbon/whatever if you CAN'T get the keypress condition to activate anything.

    DSC Pc300 keypad

The words 'burglar alarm' would be easy enough to write - we aren't all familiar with product coding.... either way it looks to be proprietary equipment therefore OEM supply only. Have you a particular issue with the existing keypad? Or is it physical damage? Poor contact issues can be...

    T8 - LED shop lighting

Hmmmm, my own experience of such (albeit fairly 'old' experience) is that whilst they specify 50k hours they don't tell you this includes light output degradation over that time period. The lights may still be working after 50k hours but will you be able to SEE anything by them???? We replaced...
