How would a twisted pair effect a signal

The process of twisting pairs is to limit 'crosstalk' on data lines and limit EMI (noise). It will have no effect on what you are doing as all the members here have already told you. Try a pair, try a twisted pair.. You will see no difference. Now, high resistance is another issue. But again, as...

Treadmill control board check and repair

Hello, and so do we.... You will need to provide lots more information about your particular treadmill including close-up, clear photos of the control board. The most basic form of over current protection is a fuse. Perhaps your control board has a fuse for the output drive to the motor. Martin

PIR Motion Sensors and Halloween animatronics

You will probably find that the 'try me' button or plug is just a 'jumper' with a N/O push button switch. So basically just bypassing the normal ON/OFF switch. Martin

    Weiss FM demodulator

Ah ok. That circuit is on a Spanish website 'Radioaficion'. Why not use their 'Mini chat' service y hablar. There are thousands of circuits online that do not work. Might be why there is no info on this particular circuit. Martin

    Weiss FM demodulator

Yes, that's true. I know what FM modulation/demodulation is but what is Weiss? What are you trying to achieve? Anything to do with metal detectors? as in discrimination or detection? I am just curious. EDIT: I just read this in Wiki.... Other FM detectors Less common, specialized, or...

    Tenma Oscilloscope Model 72-320

You can get the manual from here. I am not sure if you have to pay though, I didn't call them. You can use their live chat to ask. I found that newark . com have them from this site. Hope it helps. Martin

Conservation CD and DVD optical medias

Cryogenics might be your only answer. This goes against everything you know. Your normal freezer wont cut it at 0.4-12c. Get a Silica gel enhanced Neocrydium sulphaticum gel pack. Not only does the process of removing rust (oxidation) and age compensating chemicals (rejuvenation) of your 80s...

    Repairing an old radiation detector.

I agree. However, if you are going to re-cap, check all resistors too. They are probably fine but some might have drifted way out of tolerance. Martin

    Unknown MOSFET specs datasheet

You could try omitting the first letters like here. Then add search terms after like here. Have a play and don't forget to check 'images'. You may spot what you are looking for. EDIT: forgot to mention that a photo would help too. Martin

    Repairing an old radiation detector.

Ok, lets assume it was functional before. 40 years later, somebody powers it up. Obviously calibration wont be the same. The main reasons would be the caps. Martin

    Repairing an old radiation detector.

That would be my first initial observation. Are you looking at restoring or just repairing?. Martin

    Repairing an old radiation detector.

Well, for starters, those caps are nearly 40 years old. Martin

    Wrong wiring??

Why can you not get these anymore? It is only a panel/chassis mount momentary switch. Perhaps you kept that switch on for longer than the specified time. More than likely. My thoughts exactly. Some items/devices have the neutral switched too via a DPDT instead of the usual SPST switch. Martin
