Help repairing old motorcycle voltage regulator

Hi, I am on a train ATM but can answer a question. The ground is definitely the frame. The resistor wont read only one way as you describe. However, it might if you tested it incorrectly by including either diode #5 or #6. Have you got a multimeter?. The ‘S’ is signal not aground. It’s half of...

Osram Parathom par16 80328 led voltage

Dog crap is better. But you are in good hands with Edd. He seems to find schematics not in existance. He can route a pcb with a out of focus photo. Got to love this guy. Edd , do you want a new grandson?

Osram Parathom par16 80328 led voltage

It certainly has a ref des of R1. I would think it’s a fusible resistor. 500mA 240v. I think some of the solder joints look terrible. I would reflow quite a few joints and see if that solves your issues first. Martin

    3-phase 380V inverter with EGS031 and EGP3000W boards

@AljazG . First thing is hello. Do you know how to introduce yourself?. Secondly, ASK for documentation. Not from here but where you bought it.

    Simple SW receiver on 3V?

I will ask again, why it must be 3v?. A pp9 is portable too. Sometimes a proper explanation of what you are trying to do yields positive responses. So far in all your posts, is about old transmitters and receivers. Is there a particular reason you choose old technology?.

    EV431 C.Board

Are there any other names or logos on the housing?. Nothing comes up for the EV431. On the other site where you posted, you say it is working fine. Take a photo of the back panel. It may have a logo or other identifying names/numbers. You also said it was expensive. So surely you can contact...

Will covering ring on male TRS jack with tape work?

Shorted ring works because some inputs (old) have a larger shield connection thus shorting the ring. Newer or typically available equipment have a smaller shield connection avoiding the ring. Others have deliberately shorted the ring for this purpose. It’s not rocket science. Other than that...

Will covering ring on male TRS jack with tape work?

I agree with @hexreader . It totally depends on the equipment. Some equipment have circuitry to adjust the signal depending on it’s input signal. Some attenuate while others amplify. Some have a simple switch. Some TRS to TS converters have impedence matching. However, The OP is going from an...

Is transistor faulty or something else amiss

You should really test it out of circuit. Other components can affect the readings. Martin

Is transistor faulty or something else amiss

Why not eliminate the NPN by testing it?. Martin

Connecting balanced output with unbalaned input using adaptor

Adaptor.. The adapter you link to Changes a mono signal TS to a double mono for TRS. It does nothing more than split the signal. It grounds the ring, probably the right channel in stereo form. However, what you require are TRS to TS converters not adapters. The converters have a small...

LiPo Battery on use while charging

The only way to be sure is to have good measurement readings. Multimeters (some) are cheap and more reliable for lower readings. Also another important factor is whether the board has circuitry to monitor charging and monitor battery temperature. Martin

LiPo Battery on use while charging

Having the meter set to 40A, looks like the current is around 2.7A. Can you set your meter lower to 6 or 8A?. Then repeat your measurements?. In any case, if it is 2.7A, the charger is max 4A so there will be no problem with using it while the adapter is plugged in. But, if you use the lamp...

    Password Reset - PDR-44C1-V

Does the unit (not missing remote) have a ‘mode’ and ‘ptz’ button?. Most if not all DVRs have a sequence of buttons for a factory reset. Can you access the menu without the remote?, some can and others can’t. If no jumpers are available, have you tried removing the CMOS battery?. I will...

SCALE MODEL LEDS FROM AC POWER SOURCE

You are correct in that the base plate does not spin, so very easy to mount the chopper. No slip ring required. The fan in my loft is on a shaft and the whole blade assembly spins. All you need to do is buy an AC/DC adapter of the required voltage for the controller as dave9 suggested. Mount it...

SCALE MODEL LEDS FROM AC POWER SOURCE

NAV lights don't spin on the blades.. Why? this is done in the model. not the fan. Why? Again, why? These are LEDs not strobes.. As quoted I think that sometimes we all need to read the op's question.

SCALE MODEL LEDS FROM AC POWER SOURCE

Also don't forget the 'slip ring' that is needed while the blades spin as the fan. Note: you will need to probably change the rotors or soften them to put a positive pitch. Pushing the air down. Martin
