Need help with QFN packaged IC for breadboard

Here's an adapter board: http://schmartboard.com/schmartboard-ez-5mm-pitch-64-pin-qfp-qfn-to-dip-adapter-204-0018-01/ actual sockets start at around $130

So, I built a guitar neck with LEDs in it .....

The LED brightness can be adjusted by fitting a PWM dimmer circuit in the +ve feed line.

1970 Delco Radio Repair - audio distorted

Distortion levels of 10%+ are quite common but check that your PSU can deliver the required current before condemning it.

What charger to use for LI-ion batteries

The OP's reference was to an 18650 charger that operated from a 12V source....

Should i short the chopper transistor for a ac adapter?

Not without permanent damage - let the smoke out etc. But the internal fuse will probably blow first.

Sick of my breadboard! quality breadboard recommendations please.

Get one from Rapid or Farnell. If it cr@ps out on you then get a replacement under warranty.

What charger to use for LI-ion batteries

Why not? A single 18650 is only needs a 4.2V (give or take) charge voltage and a module powered from 12V would have no difficulty with that.

    Electrolytic capacitor questions (reversed polarity)

Simple diode wired across the LED and a series current limiting resistor will work. Fitting them into the old bulb holder is a good idea - possibly fiddly, but a great looking result.

So, I built a guitar neck with LEDs in it .....

The effect you're noticing is akin to switch contact bounce - fairly easy to deal with in a software sense but a bit more involved using discrete parts. Post your schematic 'as is' and we'll see what's the best method at fixing it.

Layman's method for troubleshooting CD4016 analog switch IC help please

You aren't understanding the principle of the 'on resistance' properly. The value you quote (200-300Ω at 9V) is the resistance (in-to-out) of the switch if it is powered from 9V DC i.e. the chip ITSELF is powered by 9V DC. I don't know what your system (circuit) supply is but it's likely to be...

    Electrolytic capacitor questions (reversed polarity)

Are those the 'right' capacitors for the job? I mean - the ones you fitted are 'polarized' in the sense that they can only be inserted in one position due to the tab positions. If they were 1-for-1 replacements how can you get the job wrong? Another thing - how OLD are those capacitors? Even...

Nor can I !!! Under the circumstances I'd go with the device that has the most useful support mechanism attached - in this case the device I recommended on the basis of demo software.

Layman's method for troubleshooting CD4016 analog switch IC help please

Depends on the switch 'on-resistance' as many multimeter continuity buzzer ranges only work on sub 100Ω values (or less - check your meter spec sheet). Best check it by measuring the DC across the switch in it's open/closed state.

Using a REED SWITCH with uC Question

Pull up resistors are the most commonly used method and some μcontrollers have them built into their I/O ports - check the datasheet to see if your particular port offers this.

What charger to use for LI-ion batteries

The 18650 is a 'generic' Lithium, very commonly used these days and there are dedicated chargers for them as well as simple circuit board modules for charging them singly, in pairs, in series etc. Google '18650 charger' and see what comes up.

    Battery Level Indicator

Define 'battery level indicator'..... do you want to know it's level 'intimately' or just when it's falling below acceptable limits? There are methods that offer bar displays (LM3914) for a graduated indication - go/no-go LED displays with Red, Yellow and Green indications (often used in...
