    As Dave says you need to check the data sheet. But I doubt you will find a graph showing the current versus applied voltage, I might be wrong. I have never seen one as you are supposed to operate them within the limits set out in the data sheet. Adam

    Hello The TVS working voltage is normally specified so a maximum of say 5 uA to 1 mA (dependant on the power handling of the device) of leakage current is obtained when working normally.     No probs. 150uH and 220uF cap and another 150uH inductor. The two inductors in series with the output and at the join junction of the inductors the capacitor to zero volts. Or just try one inductor and cap. Adam

    That's probably because at low load the frequency of the switching will be lower because it's doesn't have to refresh the energy lost from the output capacitor. Adam

    Your job for tomorrow is to sort out the wiring :), it's quite messy and those long wires might not be helping matters. Make all connections as short as possible. Move the top IC down with the others if you can. This will reduce the length of the wires. Adam

    Your circuit could also be oscillating which is why you are measuring 2.5 Volts. Adam

    I just wondered why you had that little red and black link. Are all those separate blocks going across the breadboard joined together? It's been 25 years since I have used that sort of thing. Adam

    Yes unused inputs to ground. Decoupling 2.2uF and 100nF across the supplies of each IC make sure they are as close to the IC power pins as you can get them.

    You don't have any decoupling on the supply lines. Why have you got one IC miles away from the others. if you have any gates that are not used they inputs must be terminated. Adam

    It looks like you have added pull down resistors which are not on your schematic. Is this correct?
