    Serious lead-acid battery charger

Do you mean two 12v in series? Either way, this project would be far too complex if you don't know where to start. Better to buy one. Martin

    Help Identify the component

Hi Benjamin, MOV's are a strange devices. I don't have the physics or math knowledge to answer this with any real technical lingo. But somebody will surely put me right where I go wrong!:) Your comment on "permanently opened (closed circuit)" Can only be one or the other. But I understand what...

Yamaha RP-U200 Receiver: how to use with Windows 10 Home

Hi Kay, Windows 10 is still very new for knowing whether certain hardware will or wont work. Connect it up and see!! Check Yamaha's website for updates or the web for third party drivers, if it doesn't work. You could be "that person" who confirms for others that it does work:) Martin

    Help Identify the component

No. It's the MOV that shorted. Connecting the joint again will cause another direct short. Cut the component leads low to the board so they cannot be bent over to touch each other. It's also a good idea to replace the MOV if you want to protect the circuit in the future. Martin

    Multimeter

Was that a reply?:p It's probably the resistor as shrtrnd suggested or a MOV. If somebody tried to measure continuity on a live circuit or something similar. I have the Tandy version (Eagle) still complete with box too. Martin

    Help regarding possibility and planning

It is a resistor. Your circuit has lots of them too which need soldering. It takes lots of practice and decent soldering tools to be able to do it. Not to mention a decent magnifier with a light!. Martin

    Help regarding possibility and planning

My only advice is learn to solder discrete components first. Have you actually seen how small surface mount components are? (not my thumb):) Martin

Potentiometer search CTS 50K linear taper 1 turn

Is called a D-shaft. That 50k switched pot is available but the mounting is different. Yours has the pcb front mount bracket because it has no threaded outer panel bushing with a nut and washer. You could try and find a way to mount one to the front panel and use wires from the pot to the board...

    Software Uploading Problem

I think your questions would be better in the www search bar. Then read a lot. Then try what you read. If it doesn't work, read some more and try again!! We have to do it all the time. And don't have the inclination to babysit:) All of your questions are very easy to find. You have no problem...

I need some feedback on connectors

Hi Mudmin, You could look at the DB 25 connector. Or complete parallel cable.. They are used for the old parallel ports. Then you have a couple of extra terminals for future add-ons.. Martin
