    That chip is a circuit board with components on! Not an IC. That circuit board also has header pins soldered either side, just straighten them and plug them into your bread board! Or am I missing something? Martin

    The datasheet does say that the current can be increased by several amps using pass transistors. You said you have changed the regulator, so why do you still suspect it? Martin

    That was an example only that they do come up for sale. Most 10.8v chargers will work but read the specs on the charger first. Your batteries have the specs for charging. You will probably have to use jumper wires or design the third party charger around yours. Martin
