    led light bar

Yes they are. But you will need a soldering iron to do it. It is basically to re-make the connection that has failed. Martin

    led light bar

The traces are the pcb connections to all components. Yours look to have failed or broke! In other words, no connection from one point to another. Martin

Some way to disable auto-standby on TV soundbar

I never thought of that! Ok, I have a fix.. Get a coat hanger, bend it in the middle. Blue tack both remotes to table. Bend coat hanger around desired finger. Press both buttons with coat hanger. Use other finger to continue devouring chocolate. How stupid was I? You have to admit, I would make...

    led light bar

Hi Clue, That first photo looks like the traces have broken. The solder blobs look real bad too from the + and - links. Have you got a meter to check continuity across those joints? Incidently, is there a wire at each end of the light bar or two from one end? Martin

    led light bar

Hello clue, Not enough information to even guess. How many leds on the strip. What voltage is the strip. What strip is it (link). Where and how did you install it. 4x4 taxed road vehicle or Radio controlled 4x4 car. See what I mean... Martin

    fan repair and diagnosis

No fire hazard with lubricating oils. That's what they are designed for! stopping friction. Has the fan got a bearing or two? That would normally be the case for running first and slowing as it heats up due to friction. If they are sealed bearing/s, better to replace them. If not sealed, you can...

Some way to disable auto-standby on TV soundbar

Wow, what a world we Brits live in!! Who'd have thought we would ever need to press TWO buttons on a remote from our arm chairs. Geez.... Tongue firmly in cheek!! I would have thought there is a way to disable the STBY but have never thought about it before now. You would need to get a...

Led's to be programmed for Swiss locos

I think you need a diode in series with the single rear LED. Why are all the 'blau' connected? Seems like the two front leds are in parallel and the rear led is in series with the fronts. EDIT: No it isn't. Only fronts are. Your shematic should work as it is. Edit2: All you need if Gelb and...

Led's to be programmed for Swiss locos

Hey Adam, that's because he's from Ozz... Sounds like he's got a 'Bobby Dazzler' and a 'wun Hung Lo'. I hope his sense of humour is not 'as dry as a dingo's donga'. Or a 'pomms bath mat'... Sorry, I couldn't resist it...It's the child in me..:D Martin

Need help repair dead switching power supply

Both those types of transistors are appear to be NPN TO-220. With the same pinouts of 1.Base, 2.Collector and 3.Emitter. While looking at the front (Marked side). So put your meter to diode test or continuity and put the pos lead to 1.Base and leave it there. Check collector and emitter pins...

Nothing more annoying than waiting for something that arrives broken.!! I feel your pain. Wow, I typed this ages a go. Who in their right mind would mail an antenna in a jiffy bag? No box? That is really a poor service. Martin

Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

Possibly that was your failure then. A constant rate of discharge 'did' have the memory effect with these batteies. That's why I said I always changed it. Martin
