Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

Nice work Bob. Quite a bit to digest  I'll study this in more detail later. Adam

Is this layout good for a DC-DC converter?

Post the circuit digram also. Adam

    Slim Motor for electric Fan

Bob well I never new about pancake motors until you mentioned it. Thank you Adam

    12V - 36V 30mA Converter using LT1173

But smps do have more ripple. You dont think your expecting too much. Try this put a 100R and a 100uF cap on the output. Connect the resistor to the output and the cap from the other side of the resistor and then to 0V. To form a lowpass filter. Adam

Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

Its like riding a bike you soon pick it up again. Adam

Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

Thanks Bob. I thought he wanted a few steps to switch automatically in. How can one opamp do this without intervention? Thanks Adam

    12V - 36V 30mA Converter using LT1173

Lol It is now cool :)

Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

Oh sorry I thought you had knowledge of electronics. To what level would you say you are? I will look at a circuit for you if you are not comfortable with this. Adam

Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

What about a battery level monitor made from op amps which switches in a different value resistor using say a MOSFET depending on the voltage level. Adam

No probs Kris. I thought you might have a giggle at that :) Cheers Adam

Fuel Gauge converted to Volt Meter

So the fuel sensor is connected to a 5 Ohm resistor and this is what produces the voltage level needed by the cluster? Adam

This might help? Not very good at drawing sorry :) Adam :)

    12V - 36V 30mA Converter using LT1173

The reference design in LT Spice uses significantly higher feedback resistors. Why have you chosen such low values? You are wasting approx. 30 mA in the feedback network, why? Adam

    Help with frequency divider

I think your right Harald. I always prefer to just label the supplies +12 V +5 V and 0V etc. for most of my stuff. I think this stops confusion. But that's just my choice, Vdd and Vss are meaningless on a diagram because you don't necessarily know what the voltage is. Adam

Sorry I didn't understand your question. What do you mean insensitive? Adam

    Beat me again Kris :)

    Power source help

Yes that's how you do it. Set the meter to read D.C volts that would include the 12 Volt level. If you get a -12 Volt reading with the red lead connected to the centre pin then the connections are opposite to what you have noted and the middle pin is 0 V. Assuming you have them plugged in...
