Never give up.. And sorry to @davenn too, He also recommended the antenna. Sorry Dave, I breezed over that. Didn't mean to.:) Does your card have an ext antenna input? Might be an idea to put a directional one on. Just a thought. Martin

    Activate transistor with piezo disc

Well it shows the circuit is working. Did you read the link I posted for you? It may be a case of adding a storage device. A capacitor to keep the led on longer. What are you trying to do? Martin

    Activate transistor with piezo disc

Hi Drottson, Transistors are quite fast at switching too. Have you tried applying pressure to the piezo disc? Like a quick tap? The Wiki on piezos is quite informative. Here Martin

    Security Sucerity

Hi CB, Did the 12v power supply come with your cctv? Or are you using a 12v supply (wall wart) that you had laying around. Did it do this from new or has it just started with this issue? The software ispy, is it designed for your camera or a third party add on? Is it happening ONLY when in...

    Good book for Electronics

This is a good reference to half wave rectifiers. It explains it really well without all the electronics jargon. And makes it real easy to understand. Have a good read. Martin

Inkjet Printer electronic fault please help!

Yes it seems to be a very complex printer. I think you need to go back to basics and check the voltages from the power supply. Make sure the regulator is functioning correctly and check all diodes and capacitors in that area. Perhaps somebody on this forum has experience with this kind of...

Inkjet Printer electronic fault please help!

Hi, Have you checked the resistance on IC (E09A19RA) pin 18 to ground? Manual says around 18K ohm is fine but very low 0 or very high Mega to replace it. Martin

    Transistor bias configuration

To be honest it was a fascinating thread to read. It was clear that physics had an advantage. But to say "which posts I agree with" would be unfair. I wouldn't want to appear BIASED! :p Martin

    wi-fi

Personally no. But as Kiwi already mentioned, it's the wireless router that needs boosting. You could try a different wireless USB card. Orr a different antenna. An 18db 2.4 ghz with a booster seems to yield good results. But to be honest, 300 meters is already a good reception. Martin

    Good book for Electronics

I can give you my understanding of half wave rectification until Steve gives you a proper answer. Half wave only uses one diode and rectifies half the sine wave, so also means that the voltage drops too. It can be the top half of the wave or the bottom half. A full wave rectifier uses two diodes...
