Total beginner... so I don't know if what I want to do is easy or hard!

I think most tools are universal motors. Could be wrong of course. Also most up to date tools (bench tools) have the green and red stop start safety switches too. I know all mine do have them. Martin

    Power supply- +17VDC, -17VDC

Something else to consider. I have never done this but others do, is to buy two wall warts from a thrift shop and cut off the connectors and wire them in series. Obviously double insulated ones. Might only be a dollar each. Martin

    Please help identify a connector

Hi John, I had no luck on the connector size either. If you are only connecting one wire, the easiest option would be to solder that one wire. But sit tight, somebody might find the right connector for you. Martin

    IMAC 27" Backlight Problem

Yes, I agree with you. I would carefully strip it right back and re-attach at the board itself. In Gerry's defence, he did say it would take a while and didn't want to spend too much time on it. However, for me time is not an issue for my own goods. I would prefer the proper strip down and fix...

Yes, including your phone, radio, GPS etc too. Have a go with the ferrite cores first (cheapest) then the shielded cables. You will get to the bottom of it eventually. Good luck and don't forget to let us know how you get on and what worked for you!! Good luck. Martin
