panasonic home theater system won't turn on

You have not confirmed that you get a beep yet!! No it doesn't work with all components. Causes of no power is very wide. You don't know whether you have power yet. Martin

panasonic home theater system won't turn on

Does it beep when you touch probes together? Testing continuity of fuses, wires etc will beep when you probe both ends of a wire or fuse. eg: get a length of wire or a fuse and put a probe from the meter to each side. It should beep. that would normally show the fuse is good etc. Martin

panasonic home theater system won't turn on

Sorry my image is too big. Search for bad capacitors and view them from images. You will get the idea. Continuity is probably on your meters 1 o'clock symbol. Put dial there and touch the two probes together. It should give an audible beep. Martin

panasonic home theater system won't turn on

Safely not really. You can do a visual check of capacitors on the power supply for leakage or bulging. Have you checked the mains cable for continuity? Otherwise the unit will need to be plugged in and test for voltages on the primary side first. Martin

panasonic home theater system won't turn on

If you take the top off, you will see where the mains power comes in. There will be a fuse close to it. Or on the back a fuse holder (circular) black item. And of course, do not take the top off without unplugging the unit. Have you got a multimeter? If not it's a very necessary first tool. Keep...

Use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean a device with built-in battery?

To be perfectly honest with you, I can't answer your question. Every manufacturer will use different methods of battery isolation. Use in the shower is not 'waterproof'. A weather proof cctv camera is not waterproof. I would play on the side of caution, and make sure the contacts are above the...

Use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean a device with built-in battery?

Hi ultrasonic1, If the item to be cleaned is truly 'waterproof' and not splash proof there wont be a problem. But rechargeable goods have contacts for charging the cells. If these contacts are visible and not covered 'waterproof', then you will short the battery. Having said that, you can if...

    Burglar Alarm Kit dosnt sound

Hi, have you double checked 'polarities' of components? Make sure there is no solder bridge too. If you have done everything correctly, there is a chance that you have a faulty component from the factory. What is the voltage output to the buzzer? Martin

I require help repairing a Kitchenaid Water Kettle

Ideally with a continuity tester. You can make one very easily with a torch or a buzzer. Or just a small bulb, wire and a battery. Do you not have fuses in the plugs in France? Something as simple as this..Sewing pins not necessary though. Martin
