    HOME THEATER AUDIO CUTS OFF

Hi Dave, not really sure either. But assume CD, TAPE, AUX, PHONO for us old guys!!!!! So swittching between inputs has not shorted. Sound for a second before interrupts. O/P sounds fine. Just some interrupt protection before all outputs. May be?

I require help repairing a Kitchenaid Water Kettle

Wow, you are superb.. I wish everybody was like you. We need to stay on the AC side of the circuit board. I notice on the under-side is four black small components. These are called diodes and make up a bridge rectifier. This turns AC to DC and gives DC voltage to the other boards. Next...

I require help repairing a Kitchenaid Water Kettle

Thank you. There really is not much to go wrong. However, checking may be a little more difficult and CARE must be taken at all times.. You seem to be very good at tracing what is connected to what!! That is very helpful. So well done. We need to know that voltage is present to the board that...

    Night vision camera boards

Hi, The item you are looking for is 'infrared' leds. You can buy these on the Bay very cheap for cctv cameras and adapt them for being truly waterproof and submersible. They are usually 9-12volt DC and already in a housing. Select the type, shape, amount of leds etc and improvise. Possibly a...

I require help repairing a Kitchenaid Water Kettle

OK, sorry. On the board where the fuse is. There are two rectangular white boxes. They are relays... If you plug the base of the kettle in and turn the switch on, can you here either of those click? Better still, can you give a better pic of the relay? I don't think they are the problem though...

    HOME THEATER AUDIO CUTS OFF

Hi Renwick, Have you checked the obvious first? Like speaker connections tight and in some cases polarity. Especially no loose wire strands shorting either terminals? Check and double check these. A loose strand can almost be hair strand size (wire dependant). Take your time and undo each...

I can't really say for sure by the picture. But you need to unplug it and check your purple again and the other side of the fuse. Not for voltage but for continuity. Martin

    Bass Amplifier troubleshooting

Hey Joe, I shouldn't have said EARTH!! It isn't spiked to EARTH!! It's kind of frowned upon around here. I should have said 'Ground' or 'common' or 'neutral'. Anyway, yes check all the 'common connections' especially the input jack. There are large capacitors on the board too which can vibrate...

    Bass Amplifier troubleshooting

Hi Joe, sounds like an EARTH issue initially. Is this amp new to you? Or used by you before with no problem? Reason I say this is because possible interference from flourescent lights etc can cause this kind of issue. Is it a similar buzz to when you plug a jack in and touch the terminals? I...
