Driving SCRs for coil gun and EMF protection

Well you have not supplied a circuit diagram so I can't see your capacitor bank. And you assume we all know what a 5 stage coil gun is. Well I don't. Can I ask first, how do you plan to turn off the device?. Just making sure you know you can't just remove the trigger. The gate is also going to...

    LiPo over discharge protection

This is a series version of one that we use in our company You choose your own FETs, this might work but you would need an adaptor PCB to solder this because it is surface mount. Hope this helps Adam

    Computer Software to Simulate Circuits?

Nice work Harald. I use the .lib or .inc commands that link to the website where the spice files are stored. Then all you do is pick the correct generic component and add a spice directive. .inc http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/NTD20N03.LIB or .lib...

How do I build a Metal Detector?

If your circuit is built the same as your schematic then it looks like your clock in is shorted to 0V. but I can't see the bottom of the circuit on your picture you might have a resistor fitted. Thanks Adam

Formula to get voltage on circuit

Or what about (6V-1.5)/2 = 2.25V. Subtract the lower battery voltage from the top battery and replace the bottom battery with a short. Then you just have to work out the potential where the two resistors are joined in the middle with respect to 0V. This is just a simple potential divider and...

    Op Amp Stability

I have tried to answer Lvw's questions to the best of my ability, here they are. I have not included wording changes request by Lvw. 1)Thread Quote: This gain is usually very high. It is high because you normally close the loop with feedback which stabilises the op-amp and increases the...
