    12vdc Pulse Timer

OK, to revive this thread. Even though the OP has not replied. I found a solution and it works. @hevans1944 I used the side lights power to supply the relay. pin 87. So only powered when lights are on. Supply from flasher relay to diode and capacitor (largest I had 6800uf). Pin 85. And pin 86...

USB 5V power from 12V car supply

Hi John2k, Your assumptions are correct.. The Max is 3a. Your tablet will only draw the current it needs. You could use a 5v 5a and the same applies. A device will only draw what is required. Martin

Windows 98 Computer Modification, please help!!

Hi jackfen, as davenn said, the pictures are really bad. The 1st picture seems to be a 14 pin. The standard vga was/is a 15 pin. 3 rows of 5 pins. Can you provide a better picture of the interface card with the pins? If the card is correct for pc to mac pin-outs it is more than likely that...

Help identifying glass diode without markings (parallel to relay)

Hi, this looks very much like a switching diode. Have a look here at the data sheet. http://elcodis.com/parts/380917/1SS133T-77.html Also seems to be very similar to your length measurement too. Martin

How does an ATX power supply work?

@MrOmnos I think most ATX psu's use components to achieve the different voltages rather than dedicated regulators. The KA7500B (switched mode power supply controller) is in fact a 5 volt regulator (or 5 volt reference) Or 5 volt standby for the motherboard. This 5 volts is converted to 3.3 volts...

How to control 80 relays using ardrino

I am getting really confused here... You said about a battery backup for power outages. If you are using the battery backup to keep the transformer online, then the transformers wattage is what you use..Surely?

How to control 80 relays using ardrino

I think you are asking an impossible question to answer. You need to supply the wattage combined of all the appliances you want to automate? But if that is the transformer you are going to use then the amswer is still 1500 watts. Martin

    Old Tube amp

Hi Chris, measuring capacitance wont tell you if the capacitor is bad. An ESR (equivalent series resistance) meter is the only method to know for sure if the cap is bad or not. Other than bulged, leaking electrolytics of course. On an old unit it is probably good practice to replace all...
