    Android Windows Remote Control

Anyone with a universal remote control can control your tv while in your home, that's the point so whoever has it can start stop media player otherwise you'd have to pass your phone to another person in the room... security is easy, only people connected on your home wifi can only do so if they...

    Android Windows Remote Control

I've been busy developing with Android, got a few ideas I'm kicking around but my first app is a remote control for windows! UPDATE - version .2 now with a little eye candy :p https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.craigs.remote just clicking on the link from android should launch...

What is your favourite type of component?

for me it's the transistor, you'd have nothing worth owning if not for that little guy!

    Constant voltage load

I've had 2 dollar ebay dc dc lm2596 supply 14.5v to a lead acid battery it will supply 3amps max before shutdown steps in.. had this setup going for about 2 years, you need to supply 13.8 - 14.5v or it wont fully charge..

    Load Balancing.

I agree ... but that does not explain the 15,000uf (as indicated by the circuit) maybe that was a circuit NOT to use? :)

Trying to find out the name of a type of component.

a DIAC fits this description although I doubt it's what the OP is after..

    Load Balancing.

lately I've been thinking of wiring up several regulators so I've been searching for circuits.. using this attached circuit, what keeps 1 regulator from working harder than the other? is it a result of the 2 diodes and their vf drop? or is it due to the large capacitor(s)? I'm just not sure...

    Can a 6v light bulb blow a 12v transformer

I've taken a 12v car globe up to 22v the bulb worked, but to be safe I only did it for a few seconds, it sounds plausible the bulb could have maxed the amp current rating of the transformer...

    Lm317 led current?

I would not.. I'd build a regulator instead

    Lm317 led current?

would an el cheapo 1k pot handle the current? 0.020 x voltage (1.25v)

Power supply ( voltage regulator )

At 500ma you're pushing it... you need a heatsink. I personally would use a switching regulator like the lm2596.

    Designed a 10watt LED driver...

Hope you understand the circuit now.... (Not just asking for the hell of it)

Yeah but mosfets are not as fun as bjts :p

    Designed a 10watt LED driver...

Take picture 1. To get the LED bright a much lower resistor value is required to drive the base (a darlington combo may work?) This prevents the 2nd transistor to be fully turned off...

    Designed a 10watt LED driver...

Under the 2 version transistor circuit, the sense resistor will trigger, which turns on the first pulling the 2nd (that drives the LED) to gnd reducing current. That works great for led's less than a watt, problem arises when applying to high powered LEDs, as the voltage rises the current will...

    Designed a 10watt LED driver...

with a bit of tweaking, this should drive a 10watt LED of 12v, a couple of pots might be a better idea in real life. But this circuit has current limiting, and will limit the LED to less than 800ma.

What would 'high-power' be considered? (Constant Current Source)

10watt chinese LEDs? I've driven them purely from voltage, the diodes forward voltage drop depends on temperature, providing you supply a voltage which draws 60% of your total current, when summer arrives the foward voltage drop decreases and your current rises.. But, because there's some head...
