Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

OK. Shorting out B to E, collector voltage drops to virtually zero on collector

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Thanks "Any chance of spot checking back at RED 3 and confirming its 5.6 VDC": Yep 3 legs 16.6V, 0.6V and 5.6V Sorry, confused: Am I meant to short base to emitter on Q151 or take out R159 by shorting it's legs

by short R159 you mean bridge across it's 2 legs?

Collector at Red 4 connected to ground: Ground being leg of C158 Q151: DMM set to 200mV Emitter: 0.3mV Base: 8mV Collector: 0.3mV This is as I am facing the round face of transistor: from L to R= E-B_C

    Test point: 1=16.85V 2=16.62V 3=5.6V and 0.6V on base 4 & 5. I get 0V on all legs of Q151 6=0V 7=7.8V 8=15.76V 9=0V 10=0V 11=16.56V on both legs 12= 16.56V on centre leg other legs 0V

St. Edd lol I stay in the bush. OK, so I will proceed with getting the rest of the readings

    Test point: 1. 16.85V 2. 16.62V 3. 5.6V and 0.6V on base 4 & 5. I get 0V on all legs of Q151 Do I need to probe further?

St Edd. Thanks. Is your ICP-15 circuit protector the same as IC105 fuse? I'll get on with the rest of your post

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Replaced IC105 with a 315mA glass fuse, closest I could find. That has restored the red light on switch on, relieved Reading 16.7V on both legs of IC105 Voltage across C158 =16.78V But getting no voltage on any of the legs of IC104 (the 7805) Q151/R158 = 0.68V

Help repairing several Reconyx trail cameras

I was suggesting the contact cleaner to clean contacts, like plug in connectors, battery connects, SD slots, anything that makes a disconnectable contact. It's saved my bacon a couple of times.

I'll go and dig around. So far no luck finding it at electronics places in SA Thanks again for the help. Apologies for this detour

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Yes That was on IC105. I suppose this is newly blown?

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Just hang on. I might have been touching the wrong set of legs OK 19.85V on one leg and 0.06V on other leg

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Yeah lol. I am reading some resistance across legs of IC105 so it's not blown and 0V on either leg of IC105 relative to C158

Denon AVR 1804 amp won't switch on

Checked it again one leg of Q151 and one leg of R158 = 0.68V Hope something else hasn't gone with the red light not coming on anymore Voltage across C158 now 19.75V Was 17.1V when we started few days ago

Dang it ! Red light on set not coming on any more. But readings still the same as 2 posts above Reading 0V on pin 16 of CP552
