    Doesn't look good. Have reset the macroprocessor. No change. From ebc electronics: 3. Solid red power light on. No responce to power button or remote control. Most likely the receiver has a problem with main macroprocessor.

    Yes, it's a1μf. No, not bulged, not near heatsink. 0V on either leg of R158

    It's mostly together. Component video and Svideo boards removed and 1 earth disconnected

    OK Could cap C159 come into play here? Alternately reads 85μf ESR 0.14kΩ and 1151nf ESR 1.9Ω

    Nope, still 0V on base. Collector voltage has dropped to 16.7V

    So the relay is 12VDC but we keep seeing 17V. Isn't that a bit odd?

    Aah yes. Thought base was in middle but datasheet shows it's RH leg looking from the flatside of transistor. So that voltage measurement was on collector

    Yep, continuity and 16.9V between cap and relay coil Can we now safely assume the relay is fubar?

    Resistance of resistor measures 68Ω

    Ah Better. Both legs of resistor around17.05V
