    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

The board you ordered on Ebay will accept input data from an LPT or USB port, so it's not an issue either way.. Chris

    Voltage regulator problem

Brian, You'll be amazed at what we'll do for you absolutely free! We have great minds here. Don't be in a rush to spend your money. Do you have soldering experience? Can you read a schematic? If you can do both we can instruct you in building a prototype. Chris

    Voltage regulator problem

I'll have to ponder that. I was a bio-med consultant/contractor prior to retirement. My liability insurance was obscene! Not anxious to go there again. What I do here is strictly magnanimous. If we go where you're suggesting it's strictly obscene profits on my end. ;) Chris

need help with choosing the right encoder/decoder

It's not a Servo. Does this toy car currently have a receiver/controller installed? When you press a button, move a joystick, etc you're transmitting serial data to the receiver/decoder. So I'm clueless about your LED question. Chris

    Voltage regulator problem

Hi Brian, I'm about 50 miles north of you in south PBC. If you're going to run this off batteries you'll need to change course a bit. You haven't told us what your load current is but it would seem you need more current capabilities than small carbon batteries will deliver. Have you...

need help with choosing the right encoder/decoder

Thanks Dave. Either I'm going blind or he posted that in another thread. I don't see it here. BTW, I damn near had a coronary reading the prices until I discovered I was reading Indian Rupees! :D Chris

    Voltage regulator problem

A few things to mention.. First off the 9V battery is the weakling of the carbon battery family. Never rely on them for anything that needs juice. Secondly, A DC input should work on this regulator but the DC voltage should be 24 x 1.413. This is because the 24VAC spec on that page is an RMS...

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Josh, I received your PM. You're bouncing off the walls here. Please wait for your board to arrive or contact the supplier to mail you the info you need to design the circuit before the controller arrives. BTW, the only difference between a Bipolar & a Unipolar controller is that Bipolar...

    Voltage regulator problem

This is the stuff that makes me crazy! You got the board from someplace! Why not be done with it and post that info at the get go? Also, there's no solder on your alligator clips. Alligator clips present enough problems on there own accord without the added issue of twisted wire connections...

need help with choosing the right encoder/decoder

Please forgive me. I'm in an ornery mood. What the hell is a HTE/HTC IC? I Googled it until my blood pressure started to rise. Is that Hyper Text Emulator/Hyper Text Control, what? I have no idea! I'm not even sure I know what a spy toy is. Anything that invades others privacy is not a toy...

No, you can't receive multiple transmitter signals simultaneously on only one receiver. Chris

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Hey, I just found this on CNET. It allows the user to boot to DOS from a USB stick. Of course it will require a PC that recognizes a USB stick in the BIOS boot options. Most current PC's do. http://download.cnet.com/DOS-on-USB/3000-2094_4-10795476.html I still think that focusing on the OS...

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

I don't know what happened to my reply but I did reply to this late last night. Anyway, previously USB/LPT adapters were not generic like USB/RS232 are. The USB/LPT adapters were sold with a list of printers, scanners, etc that they would support. Obviously this has changed because this adapter...

    Relay voltage spikes

Having the amp and the fan sharing the same power strip isn't helping eliminate your problem. It's more likely exacerbating it. Chris

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Josh, I watched the vid. Why do people make youtube vids only to whisper or mumble? That said the vid makes the point. One SN754410 will drive a single Bipolar stepper directly from a ParPort. It's looks like a good choice for your motors. Do you have a ParPort on your PC? Chris
