    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

No, the H-Bridge has to be cannibalized from a VCR. They're mounted on a dedicated board. You remove the entire board. Josh, as I said before we need to see the data thats coming with your controller. Saying anything more before you receive it would be guess work. Chris

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Are you sure? A Bipolar will have 4 leads. A Unipolar will have 5 or 6 leads. I googled CDROM steppers and saw many Bipolar models. Chris Edit: If you have Bipolar models you'll need an H-Bridge to reverse them. The ULN2003 can't be H-Bridge configured. Oops, I see only 4 conductors in...

Is it normal for an opamp to "rectify" a signal?

If nothing else it definitely demonstrates why GND and Neutral should never be considered being near the same potential, though I'm guilty of making that statement myself. Even if the potential is small the currents can be far greater than I ever imagined. Heck, the probe's ground lead in my...

Is it normal for an opamp to "rectify" a signal?

Thanks Kris, it was quite a revelation. This was still a designated construction zone. As such and until it's turned back to the hospital's control temporary and sometimes unorthodox things happen. The compressor was tied into that branch because the med-gas contractor needed power to pressurize...

Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

If failures continue I would seriously consider replacing your Chicom motor with a 3PH Baldor driven by a VFD. Once you have one of these you'll never want to go back to a SPH motor. The only reason my SB Heavy10 still has a SPH motor is because I'm a purist regarding vintage machines. This...

Sadly, I think the only way you can escape the painful shipping cost is to buy in bulk from a seller that will absorb shipping costs for the benefits of a large order. I don't think that's a solution for a young buck like you though. Hey, hit Dad up for it! ;) BTW, shipping cost is now a...

Is it normal for an opamp to "rectify" a signal?

Ever have one of those issues stuck in your head and anxiously waited for just the right moment to share it? Well I have and I can't think of a better time to post this. The fact is you don't need a swapped Hot/Neutral to have a very bad day. What I'm about to describe was discovered while I...

Normally I'd go into my old fart rant telling you that you shouldn't be texting in class. In this case though you're not texting mindless drivel, so I really do understand. I can remember when I was young and was so excited over my projects that I could barely sleep, no less study none...

Josh, you're quite welcome. When you receive the board please post whatever data comes with it. I will then be able to draw a complete schematic for you. Cheers! Chris

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Actually it's not. It's a Breakout Board / Interface but it's far more of an interface than a breakout board. The distinction is that breakout boards are nothing more than access points usually inserted in a cable line to gain access to individual conductors. This product is far more than that...

The ULN2003 has integral base resistors so you should be able to hook its inputs directly to your controller's outputs. Like this.. Chris

Yes I do. Ha! That's why I resist going there. I'm easily addicted to things I like. That's why I've never considered CNC-ing my woodworking or machine shop machines. When I step into that shop I want to step back in time and do things the way my Dad and Grandfather did it. That's why my two...

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

Josh, it's hard to beat the price, especially with shipping included. I would guess that a US manufacturer would have to charge $35.00 - $45.00 for that board. Don't be in a rush though because Ebay's "Direct From China" doesn't break any world speed records. I read through the... uh...

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

I didn't exactly say that. My reply was based on Josh's schematic. With not having any clue of how many steppers he's driving, type of stepper or his exact stepper interface I based my reply solely on how many DB25 inputs he has. He has 12 data input lines. An LPT has only 8 data output pins...

    Uln2003 Stepper motor controller help

As Alex Trebek used to say "Ooo sooorry"!. No that won't do at all. You must send serial data to a chip that can interpret it and convert the serial data to logic states to drive your ULN2003's. A Parallel Port will provide you with 8 separate outputs but your circuit exceeds this figure. Chris
