    Woo-Woo Power saving speculation

I did a quick search to find you a new home. I think you will be much happier residing at any one of these alternative energy sites. After all, these sites are looking for great minds like yours. Moreover, these sites are looking for people that have great vision and can think outside the box...

I Think I Missed The Memo

GE, we have to break beer together someday. In fact there are quite a few here that I'd like to do that with but most of them are across the pond. ;) Yes, that young man is a product of a totally broken educational system that's been infiltrated by the demon seeds spawned from the Hippies...

    Woo-Woo Power saving speculation

The relation of E, I, R & W was pointed out to him early in the thread by Steve. It's futile because the OP's in another dimension. Chris Edit: You can amend your posts but you can't delete them. That was stopped a few months ago because it was abused.

I have no idea what your integrator circuit looks like or your whole transmitter for that matter but I can't imagine it being easier than modulating the control pin of the 555. Please post the schematic and the PN of the laser diode module. Chris

A Special Place In Hell For Yahoo

I miss the days when I used Bigfoot forwarding service. It began as a smooth running service but morphed into a royal pita, until it folded. Zone Alarm began as a free and stellar app but mutated into resource sucking BLOATWARE that you pay for! Chris

Ian, thank you for the IMAP tip and link. It just might be the ticket. By the way, you're kinda like the Invisible Man. Rarely seen but always there. Chris

A Special Place In Hell For Yahoo

They'll only provide POP3 if you pay for their Yahoo Plus. I have another email account through my ISP Bell South. About two years ago BS informed me that the web mail would be taken over by yahoo. That account is painless because the mail is downloaded to OE so I don't have to go near Yahoo to...

I slapped this together without a lot of forethought but none the less it gives you the basic concept. You can clearly see the output being FM'd and the ramp too but it's not as obvious on the ramp because there's also AM there that follows the modulation. Perhaps we can feed the ramp into a...

A Special Place In Hell For Yahoo

For the last few months Yahoo has been reminding me that they're upgrading their email client and all of us will be sooooo impressed with with our new email. The last time they did this my wife and I begged them to give us back the "Classic" version, which they did. This time I don't think it's...

I Think I Missed The Memo

Has something happed to the space/time continuum? Did I miss the memo? Was there a full blown forum alert that I missed??? Have inmates escaped from a high security insane asylum? If you don't know what I'm talking about you've obviously missed the lengthy string of posts made by a nube on...

First off I have to correct something I said. If you inject audio into the control pin it will FM the 555. The FM is not confined to the output pin alone. It will also be present on the sawtooth ramp. As I said before, you can use constant current techniques on the ramp to convert it to a...

    SPDT 5-Pin Relay

If you want to insure that the relay you buy will match a breadboard pattern you should look for DIP (Dual In-line Package) or SIP (Single In-line Package) footprint relays. Chris

    High power variable resistor?

If this has anything to do with your other two posts (with the same title) where you're looking for a digital pot, I can't imagine how a headset is going to suck up 40 Watts! It would turn your brain into a pile of goop! Chris Oops, that wasn't you! Sorry about that. A high power...

    PCB tips...

You can PWM the 555 by injecting your buffered mic audio into the Control pin. That's the primary function of that pin anyway. ;) Your osc frequency (Carrier) should be a good deal higher than the mod freq. Chris
