LED strobe circuit needs more current

As long as this is not homework or a school project we can do it for you right here. Chris

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

Steve, I must confess that my initial reaction was to reiterate my over unity position. I'm glad I read this a couple of times though, which put the brakes on that. It appears that I'm mixing apples and oranges. Yes, you're dead balls on the mark,...Tech term! :D Joules are what we're dealing...

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

This earlier quote relates the maximum power theorem and to my statement below. If we take a relay coil example of 12V/100Ω = 1.44W then the back EMF, regardless of the voltage magnitude, can't output power greater than this. To do so would be the holy grail of over unity. Chris

LED strobe circuit needs more current

To easily fill this bill my recommendation would be an LM555. It can source or sink a 200mA load directly. Adjusting the pulse width to produce a strobe effect is also easy and adjustable. Chris

    I'm new to electronics...

If your school district has evening adult education you can look into a basic electronics course. I recommend this for individuals that need structuring. Chris

On the other hand, if he cycled it that many times, in that short a period of time, it would be nearly proof positive that the problem was rectified. :D Chris

LED strobe circuit needs more current

Since you want to drive a high current LED I'm wondering if this type of flip flop is your best choice., It wasn't designed for this. I would think that a common 2 NPN flip flop with a logic level FET or Darlington driver would be a much better design. It would make the timing of the flip flop...

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

Kris, do you think this heat test is really necessary? The pump will never be operated like this during normal duty. ;) Chris

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

Make sure the 1N1190AR is solidly connected to ground as close to the motor's ground as possible. The mating surface must be flat and clean. No paint or grime. A layer of thermal compound would also be advisable prior to mounting it. Is the motor frame committed to ground? Chris

    Sweat monitor using electrodes.

When a chip contains multiples I like to name them with the standard convention of U1A, U1B, etc. Unfortunately Tina will consider that two separate chips when running the PC Board Design. In short they must have the same name IE, U1, U1. After the following steps Tina will rename the second...

    amp and Volt meter

This probably a better Hi Side method than I was considering, which was an OpAmp with the inputs wired differentially across Rs. Chris

    amp and Volt meter

Donkey, you didn't state what the expected min/max current will be. Keep in mind that the current sens resistor (Rs) should be typically a low resistance value, as to make it as insignificant as possible to the operation of the circuit. It also has to be connected from ground to the low side of...

    Multi I/O timer circuit advice

Perhaps this confusing mess was all for the best. If someone had bit the hook, just imagine what transacting business with him/her would have been like. On the other hand there may be a young anxious member PM-ing with him/her at this very moment..... Scary thought. Chris

Make sure you get this model of the 1N1190 ... http://www.mpja.com/1N1190AR-40A-600PIV-Rectifier-Diode/productinfo/18393+DI/ as they list two different 1190's. This one has the AR designation that designates the Anode is the (GND) mounting stud. Chris

    Home Made Osciloscope

Picaxe is proprietary. I don't know if they still do but SparkFun sold them. Picaxe ships world wide though and shipping costs are reasonable. I purchase directly from here. http://www.picaxe.com/ Chris

Agreed, but the Picaxe investment is so small that it makes moving up to 'C' programming financially painless from the Picaxe end. Chris

Yes, I read that but without realizing that nearly all of the OP's original post was deleted it was lacking continuity. Got the big picture now. ;) Thanks, Chris
