    How did you determine that the foils didn't short until the fourth shot? Did you use a latch? An Ohmmeter is no test at all. Edit: That suggestion wasn't supposed to short the foils. The metallic projectile was meant to be the momentary shorting element.

    There is no such animal "Owner/Operator" or Corporation that exempts anyone from liability. Even if a court of law finds you (as an individual) not liable, you and your expensive attorney still had to fight that out in a court of law.

    Did you read the Picaxe information? The Picaxe family does not require a hardware programmer/compiler. There's a wealth of information on the Picaxe web page. Download the Programmer/Compiler software and the manuals, they're all free. You can be running basic code in the simulator by this time...

    You made no mention of frequencies and pulse width. We don't know if you're talking Hz KHz, GHz? Why not? A dip switch and fixed resistors can easily replace a Pot in a 555 RC time base. Would you please translate this? :confused:

    Well, now you know how. ;) The advantage of this will become apparent if you ever work with a PNP transistor that's being used for high side rail switching. This is an issue that comes up quite often when using the 555 timer. Chris

    Justin, leave your code as is but disconnect the LED and increase Pause to 5000. Just run it and measure supply current. I don't want any loads on the supply but the Axe. Thanks, Chris
