Political argument (Yeah, this is going to end well)

Yes, one does tend to do quite a bit of wondering when your brain is frying on daily cocktail of LSD, Crystal Meth, Heroin, Coke, Uppers, Downers and psychobabble. The irony is the free love, free speech, anti establishment, anti government, Hippies all morphed into control freaks. Now...

    555 timer reverse polarity circuit

You stated that you have a dual (+ -) supply. The wiper of the relay just switches between your + and - post with respect to your power supply common.

    AC Adapter Question

Yes, that works for me. I've always loathed ASCII art! :D Chris

    Common Emitter Transistor

I didn't look at the rest of the circuit but I can tell you that your speaker hookup has flaws. For one, you should use a 30 Ohm model or higher. It shouldn't be wired like that either because 50% of your audio will be lost because it's on for only 50% of the 555's output cycle.

grease gun using dc motor - current switch

I'm only posting this for the educational value it may have for others reading this thread. I say this because Harold's use of a comparator is a better choice for the following reason. Using BJT's for my current sense requires Rsens to be at least 0.1 Ohm. This value may be too high and cause...

    Logic switching of 205v

Honestly, the first time I saw one of these things was in the engineering dept at work. It was Christmas time and all the departments in the hospital were setting up their decorations. So I walk in machine shop and I see a bunch of coworkers setting this string up on a small Christmas tree...

grease gun using dc motor - current switch

Here's the plot.. As you can see a linear ramp has no trouble triggering it.

grease gun using dc motor - current switch

Yes, I recently posted a plot indicating this. I'll post the link if I can find it.

    Logic switching of 205v

Yeah Dave, I just back read the posts. He did say DC. I do know that they've been selling 120VAC Christmas tree LED strings in the U.S., imported from China. I've never really investigated the wiring of them though. I've just assumed a diode, limiting resistor and a bunch of 20mA LEDs in series...

    Logic switching of 205v

Where are you located that you're using 205V? Is this is an AC Mains voltage? Btw, if you want to draw the circuit yourself and post it for conformation of correctness that would be good too. That's how we learn. ;)

    momentary to on/off

CC, if I told you what my daily schedule is, or rather lack of one since retiring, you'd be green with envy. I have no distractions what so ever but I can relate to yours. Been there. Done that...:;) Keep up the good work! :D

    NFC reader

This is just one of many reasons I've not moved away from VB6.0. If Win 8 no longer supports VB6 I'm moving over to Power Basic. The language is quite similar to VB6 while NET is anything but. ;)

    NFC reader

If it were not for my inquisitive post your topic would have be in the back pages of oblivion. Besides, I was only speculating why you hadn't received any responses. It was not an accusation. It's not my forte but good luck to you and your project.

    Logic switching of 205v

Do you understand this? Edit: Heading out with the wife for a sandwich Cubano and then to the beach. I'll draw it for you later.

grease gun using dc motor - current switch

Harald, I think it would also be advisable to have a current limiting resistor in series with the base of your current sense transistor. Without one a spike could easily destroy the base emmitter junction.

    Problems substituting a relay

Actually, I thought you were referring to connecting a bridge directly to the mains prior to the zener. This would have dictated lifting circuit common off mains neutral and would have placed common 338VP above mains neutral. Placing the bridge after two zeners back to back, (as Steve suggested)...

    remote control amplifier

Then what CC said will apply here. https://www.electronicspoint.com/remote-control-amplifier-t250682.html#post1482725 This will be SMT components and not easy for a novice with a soldering iron.

    momentary to on/off

The board may include it but if it doesn't you'd be well advised to put a reversed biased Diode across the relay coil.

grease gun using dc motor - current switch

Wow! That's quite a spread. I would think a motor that pulls only 250mA (no load) and pulls 6A @ full load is being severely overloaded. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
