    The newbie's secret circuits circus

Here's another title that's dear to my heart. https://www.electronicspoint.com/need-some-help-project-t250509.html

    The newbie's secret circuits circus

The "HELP!" title P!sses me off the most. It's usually an indication that the OP hasn't, and has absolutely no intention of doing any leg work on his own. When I search forums I like to limit the search to "Titles Only" but that title makes searches useless. Chris

    Chronograph for bullets

How did you determine that the foils didn't short until the fourth shot? Did you use a latch? An Ohmmeter is no test at all. Edit: That suggestion wasn't supposed to short the foils. The metallic projectile was meant to be the momentary shorting element.

Marketing and selling home made electronics... LED tree ?

I think my point was the court battle alone. Win or loose, liable or not, is enough to break most of us. ;) Little known facts: Does a large sign reading "BAD DOG!!! -- KEEP OUT!!!" protect you from a degree of liability? No. It will be used as evidence that you knowingly harbored a...

Marketing and selling home made electronics... LED tree ?

There is no such animal "Owner/Operator" or Corporation that exempts anyone from liability. Even if a court of law finds you (as an individual) not liable, you and your expensive attorney still had to fight that out in a court of law.

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

Did you read the Picaxe information? The Picaxe family does not require a hardware programmer/compiler. There's a wealth of information on the Picaxe web page. Download the Programmer/Compiler software and the manuals, they're all free. You can be running basic code in the simulator by this time...

    frequency conversion

You made no mention of frequencies and pulse width. We don't know if you're talking Hz KHz, GHz? Why not? A dip switch and fixed resistors can easily replace a Pot in a 555 RC time base. Would you please translate this?

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

Yes & yes. Here's a link to get you started. http://www.picaxe.com/

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

Since this will not be a fixed RPM I've totally abandoned any 555 concepts. Yes, I think a circuit based around 555's is doable for a fixed RPM. Since you want user speed control along with speed governorship I think it would be very complex, ... if it could be done at all. Here's the uC rout...

    Digital Pot setup

Justin, just noticed that the 7805 isn't grounded! Chris

    MOSFET IRF540A circuit.

Well, now you know how. ;) The advantage of this will become apparent if you ever work with a PNP transistor that's being used for high side rail switching. This is an issue that comes up quite often when using the 555 timer. Chris

    Digital Pot setup

At a glance it looks OK. Chris Edit: There's no ground on the 7805. I posted this twice, so you don't miss it.

    MOSFET IRF540A circuit.

No, they're in microamps (uA). 2000uA = 2mA. To insure that an output pin is neither sourcing or sinking current you can make the pin an input by writing code like this. Main: Low 1 ' Pin1 is made an Output Pause 5000 Input 1 ' Pin1 is made an Input with nearly...

    Application of 7805

I already showed you how to do that here. You then ignored my suggestion, modified my circuit (for reasons unknown) and posted it here?

    MOSFET IRF540A circuit.

Thanks for the test results. Some of the results are unexpected. I could have sworn I read that the M2 parts can operate down to 1.8V. Chris

    MOSFET IRF540A circuit.

Justin, leave your code as is but disconnect the LED and increase Pause to 5000. Just run it and measure supply current. I don't want any loads on the supply but the Axe. Thanks, Chris

    555 timer reverse polarity circuit

Please clarify this. does any part of this circuit currently exist? Does the load have to be committed to ground? I ask these questions because a typical method of reversing polarity is not by reversing the power supply voltage. This requires two power supplies. One Pos and one Neg with...

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

Sorry about that. Brain fart over here. I thought you were using a IRFZ46N. This happens when I'm involved in too many topics simultaneously. I assume that you mean the Drain of the 3020 is normally low - not negative? EDIT: Never mind. I found a schematic of the CS3020. The output is an...
