    USB power / DeWalt radio modification

    USB runs of the mains. "Blue Thingy" is the mains transformer. If you need battery powered USB, it would make more sense to get a seperate unit. Hacking into this unit could be a major headache.

    Seems to me that using the original matching power unit would be the best approach. If it is just a matter of simulating a signal for underspeed then as long as you know or can find out the type of sensor arrangement, something can be fairly easily hacked up to give the unit the reqired info...

    I was refering to a possible schematic of how the internal connections are made. i.e. whether or not the switch contacts are isolated from the LED connections. If so, then refer to diagram.

    I believe Minder is on the right track here. Just feed the output into a comparitor maybe 393 and use that to turn on a transistor, mosfet relay or whatever.
