    Old Electronics Parts & Diagrams

In the old style power supplies, capacitors were used to smooth the ripple on the voltage and the series filter (choke) is for smoothing the ripple on the current. In old valve radios, they (choke / series filter)served a dual purpose. That mentioned above and also to create a magnetic field...

    Simple current circuit regulator issues

To begin with , it is much easier to read a circuit diagram if it is drawn in a conventional manner such as below. With regard to your circuit, I think you will find with the addition of the large value resistors, you are operating the LM317 beyond it's ability to regulate. Think you'll find a...

Looking for a way to remotely open/close a circut?

Seems simple enough to me to set up a microswitch with a lever arm contacted by the servo arm output. None of the drawbacks you mention. Operate the switch somewhere on the servo arm arc.Doesn't have to be accurate, just on and off. Servo sweep full travel each way. Used the same setup...

    Safe sequencing of power

Did a sequence switcher like this about 10 years ago which also involved priority switching. Controlled 6 /30 metre poles with 3 x metal halide 400w fittings on each spread over 2 football fields. Used a small commercial PLC with aux relays at a central location controlling contactors at each...
