Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

Yes well that may apply to "hacking" however my experience within over 50 years of r/c work that simply is not the case. Op may be interested in "hacking" though so go for it. Just be aware that nicads can deliver quite a large short circuit current that can cause burns and explosions.

Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

I doubt many packs would have that possibility open to them.

Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

In dc circuits, the copper wire on the negative (for some unknown reason....at least to many) will deteriorate and go black and eventually it will rot completely away. Do not know why. The effect in r/c is that the charge and discharge is effected, and eventually the black wire rot will work...

Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

No.... as the above test was done perhaps once every 2 months and for the purpose of gaining the cell capacity average , it gave no memory effect. I made many of these units and all worked successfully. It was even an indicator of the dreaded "black wire" which was another unseen problem.

Solving boolean algebra task - HELP

I think you missed my point and the link I provided would give the op the oportunity to find the answer.

Thinking about fully discharging (deep cycling) my power tool batteries to try and revive them

Older nicads would respond to some degree and some would last for ages. I built a "cycler" that would discharge a fully charged pack at a constant low rate(say 300mA), measure the time and compare this to the manufacturer specs for C20 rating or better. These days there are smart chargers that...

It's easy for me also but then the op would learn nothing.

Fairly basic "and/or" function, just wondering how much study you have done.

Connecting Two Pieces of Machinery Together for Signal/Power Compatibility

Your start circuit is difficult to see where it conects. You have placed a pic over the top of part of your notes. Appears 17x-32 "infeed start" should connect to terminals 4 and 5 on 17x-31 but I see no connection to the Seimens unit. Motor is T1 T2 and T3 but no 4 and 5. Rather blurry pic and...

Problems with a Lamp Project and Dimmer Module/Switch.

The link at Amazon says 1 to 3 amps.....I'd take that as 1 amp minimum

Heating elements for own built terranium

Appears you are using way too much heat to begin with. A remedy might be if you use a heat box seperate from your main unit and regulate heat into the main via a fan and regulator flap driven by a servo.

Heating elements for own built terranium

(As an example).............We used to keep electric welding rods dry ( and hot) by using a single 15W oven bulb running 24/7 inside an old refrigerator.(10cu ft) These were almost too hot to handle so it shows just how litte a heating element you will require. Granted your enclosure is glass...

switch to detect movement of a wheel

How much movement do you require before the timer starts..? A magnet on the wheel (or several) will work with a reed switch but will require a certain amount of movement depending on the former. An emitter/detector IR led combination should pick up each spoke for better resolution. Connect to...

Heating elements for own built terranium

Maybe consider using the heat lamps from bathroom 3 in 1 units. Just have to watch loading if using a dimmer as each lamp is about 200w I think and standard dimmers are 400VA. You could switch them to get the total heat but they do put out a fair amount of heat and might cook what you are...

Need Help w/ Custom Portable Speaker Schematic

You may want to consider that speakers move air and as such, speaker enclosures are usually designed with this is mind. i.e. the air in the box needs to "vent". just one example here...... http://www.diyaudioandvideo.com/Calculator/SpeakerBoxEnclosure/

Light sensing with BPW34, TL074, and Arduino

With "map" you can take your 850 to 920 range and map it to give 0 to 1023. The readings may still jump as your sensor is the governing factor in the sensitivity. You may have to use the suck it and see approach I guess.

Light sensing with BPW34, TL074, and Arduino

There is always Arduino "map" which takes a range specified and replaces it with a new set of values. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/Map Not sure if it will suit you or not.
