    Leswing car

My guess is they would not be allowed to run around willy nilly in public places. As for the road network, same as above. Private areas, perhaps but insurance would surely be the killer in this day and age of getting sued for just about everything outside of the norm.

    Electric motor connections

Three phase don't use a set of brushes. This is single phase series motor as I showed you above. Rather high speed I would say (10,000rpm plus) Did you look at the video?? The presence of the speed sensor pretty much confirmed it is the same, but as i said earlier, hard to say from the photo you...

Using a coded door lock to trigger light on a timer

Assuming the door lock output is low voltage, Use the pulse from the door lock to trigger a 555 timer. You may have to invert the pulse though. 555 requires a negative going pulse pin 2.

    Electric motor connections

This appears to be your motor so you will be able to recognise the wiring to the block and determine if it's the same. Cannot see from your photo. Just watch you have the motor held securely as they can kick severely when first powered up and jump off the bench. First reaction will be for you...

    Electric motor connections

Appears to be a series motor by the brown coloured brush holders so I would say offhand it would be or potentially could be, high speed. Some of these devices use a ramp-up controller to start the motors under load so the number of cables could be for that purpose. A lot of bare connections...

Dehumidifer - Does not Power On. Faulty Power Supply Board.

Tests I recommended were with power disconnected , hence check the diodes, I meant with diode test on a multimeter without power. The reason I suggested you discharge the capacitors with a resistor is that one day, if you persist with bad habits, you will short out a large one and it may well...

Greetings all from the "Red Centre"

How technology changes. I can remember sitting at a railway siding some 45 years ago waiting for a goods train to get us out of Boongargil near Goondiwindi and having to sit my transistor radio alongside the telephone wires to get a station. Here you are now, internet at Uluru, middle of the...

need HELP!! with a Singer electronic transmitter switch

You could get yourself (or worse someone else) seriously if not fatally injured playing with mains equipment you do not understand. Many here will help with most things but this appears to me as "leave it alone" .

Dehumidifer - Does not Power On. Faulty Power Supply Board.

The chip you have "replaced"....for want of a better word...... is a control chip for initial power to the board. IC4 (above it to the right) is a feedback opto-isolator chip from the transformer (yellow Square device beside IC3) to IC4. Shorting capacitors is a bad idea...instead, use a...

Running a UK 230V system at 220V in the US

It's the electrical distribution system not a power supply unit. It depends on where you are and what your supply authority provides which is why I initially asked for the areas distribution type. Star or wye in US will give 208 across hot lines but delta configuration gives 240. Star or wye in...

Cordless 1500 Watt Hand-held Blow Hair Dryer

I don't think the weight of the hair dryer would be a problem. If the existing dryer was plugged into a standard pendant outlet such as pictured below, the lead would also be out of harms way most of the time, assuming the ceiling suspension point was calculated correctly. Most dryers have a...

Running a UK 230V system at 220V in the US

So you have a delta output supplying your systems then? In that instance then I believe there is a centre-tap connection for Earth and also to give you your 120v tapping, with 240v across two live.(not to ground...120v to ground from either hot line) In the case of the UK I would say it is a...

Cordless 1500 Watt Hand-held Blow Hair Dryer

The pendant style mentioned above is a good idea. Would not have to be a reel as such, just a ceiling rose at the top with a suspended outlet on a fluro chain. Plug in your existing hairdryer from there. Image shows industrial type but there are smaller, neater domestic/commercial types.

    Battery Charger Repair

Looks to me like your red and black are output and the 2 black are the input from a transformer with W1 to W4 making up a bridge rectifier. Are there any other parts to this ??
