    I'd be very surprised if it is not a "clip-in" connector. They can be tricky sometimes so best to look for a video or a manual somewhere on the web.

    Looks like a diode vacuum tube and associated somehow with the range of the current control and ammeter. Valves were just going out when I started so in much the same boat as you Kris.

    Price seems ok for the size........I would be checking to see just what the warranty covers precisely. I would imagine the "5 years" would be some type of pro-rata but check for any other "conditions of warranty" they may have. Just as an example, some warranty details exclude commercial use.

    By digitizer I take it you mean the LCD screen. Tried to get one for a navman gps once but no sign of them anywhere. Just one of those things you trrow away if it breaks. Even if you could buy the part, it would more than likely be as much as a completely new unit.

    Battery terminals should be fine. As far as the original socket, pretty much goes without saying that if the fuse holder is not up to the job then the rest of the assembly will more than likely follow suit.

    Parts look ok..... fuse goes in series with red lead. As far as terminals, it depends on what type of battery. If lead acid (car battery) then like pic below.

    I'd suggest you get a car cigarette lighter socket and a bakolite fuse holder and put a 10 amp fuse in there and wire it together yourself. The one shown says 120W but I doubt very much that the plastic fuse holder shown would handle 10 amp let alone the adaptor.

    Connection 15 and 16 appear to be back to front. Also have you tried adjusting the LCD contrast.? looks like some weird connection around C1 and C4 too. Didn't have time to look further yet (have to work):)

    Are you using a seperate power supply unit to power the meter through the thin red and black wires. These types of meters usually require this. Voltage range for this is mostly between 4.5 and 30 V dc.
