110v to 230v auto switching regulator

Ah...don't give it a second thought......:) Manuals and instructions are last resort.....:D I'm guilty of the same thing at times.....

Connecting USB outlets in parallel for more current draw?

Well then I guess the wearer will become an induction heated. o_O To be fair, there was no mention of any particular guage wire and in any case, not suitable as a "heater". Nichrome ..??? and 5V/33.9R = 147mA = 0.7W

110v to 230v auto switching regulator

If you download the specs and read them you will see the power ratings near the end. Also read the warning in the beginning.(mv8000_r_e4.pdf ) Power Supply AC 115 V, 117 V, 220 V, 230 V, 240 V (50/60 Hz) .........................(therfore no step up/down required)

Connecting USB outlets in parallel for more current draw?

Enamelled wire will esentially just be a dead short.

Fuel tank sender resistance range conversion

Here's a mechanical/electronic workaround. Take your 0-90R and feed with a 5V supply and feed result into Arduino (or Picaxe) analog input. Output this to a servo 0-255 to give 60 degree output and mechanically drive a 1K pot. 40R about 11 degrees of pot travel and 240R about 65 degrees of pot...

need help converting an ATX PSU to bench power supply.

Turn it on. If the internal cooling fan runs, then you are away. If it just give a slight "kick" and then stops , there will be additional mods to do. A photo would be helpful, top and bottom.

Distressed Nerd - How to increase Motor RPM?

Your photos , although showing details, are far too small to decipher. However, it appears to be a single phase AC cap start/run induction motor. Speed of these is fixed by frequency and by number of poles (windings) .... Only way to change speed otherwise is a variable frequency drive , but...

    Why is relay latching? :(

Replace the relay with D1 i.e. first relay, with the 12v bell. (drive it directly off the existing switches) Put a couple of turns of your 12v circuit wire around a glass reed switch (trial and error for how many turns) Use reed switch to energise your 5v bell.

Microcontroller, Stepper Motors and a 4-Axis Drilling Machine

Infra-red is light based ....ultra-sonic is sound based. Two different mediums. My reference to Linux was so you could see how it is achieved. There would be others done in assembly, probably not many but they would be of the older varity these days.

    Phase voltage circuit help

Difficult to "see" what you are trying to do, however, perhaps via transformer convert 3 phase delta to star and use the star point as common.

    555 timer question

You had me thinking for a moment...... :) Fairly sure that's correct.(the former) Anyhow, a good link here............ http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/LM555.html#34

    AC to DC

Most standard LEDs are around 20mA max, not the 31mA you have shown. One can even reduce this in most cases down to 10mA and have only a small difference in perceivable light. This reduces your power losses in the resistor markedly.

Microcontroller, Stepper Motors and a 4-Axis Drilling Machine

Heaps of info out there where others have done this many times and sorted out all the bugs and what not. Linux would be a good start. http://www.linuxcnc.org/ Ultrasonic will not do your measurments accurately. Plenty of projects around on the net showing the use of Chinese style digital...

    capacitors instead of rechargeable batteries

Capacitor energy is stored as joules (if my memory is correct). This is not normally accessed as an amount of current for a particular time. Driving circuitry via capacitors is a by-product of the fact there is an amount of energy available however they were never really designed with this sole...
