A machine to measure resistors...

I don't mean paying someone to go through 500 resistors with a multimeter... (although that's what I tend to have to do when looking for 1)

Could a hall sensor be used? Throw a resistor into a magnetic field then somehow measure the resistance based on how the magnetic field changes? I'm guessing that the currents induced in the resistor from the magnetic flux could somehow be measured? throw a resistor into a box, it drops down into a container, it measures the value and then like a coin box, spits the resistor out with a value in ohms?

Dave from the eevblog measured several thousand resistors by hand. All you need is the right equipment.

I think it was an earlier video where he describes making the jig to test the resistors.

I can't help but think a modified printer to do this would be better, but it's still a lot of manual labor involved... a machine that can measure them and spit them out would be much more superior :D

Possibly, but it depends on how many you're going to do and how often.

Measure multiple resistors at one time. Say 10, 25 or 50 and do the math then narrow it down to which set has the issue.
