Interesting - similar specs too. Looks like his still uses a speaker though.
With mine, the surface transducer attaches anywhere on the body (wherever gives optimal sound) and the body itself becomes the speaker.

One question: Why use a gain and a volume control? They both effectively control the overall gain from input to output. I'd think you can omit the volume control and work with the gain control alone.

Most guitar amps have these. The way I see it is if you set the gain high so that the signal is clipped (as is popular), you can still control the volume of that clipped signal. Am I wrong?

You may absolutely be right. I'm definitely no expert in guitar amplifiers.
