Hi Eplanet,
Your "equalizer" circuit is probably just a bass, midrange and treble tone controls circuit with a gain of only 1. It can cut its frequency bands, boost them or leave them flat.
It feeds a power amplifier that feeds a speaker.

You hyjacked this thread instead of starting your own thread.
The 2SC828 is an old Japanese transistor. Any low voltage low current transistor will probably work fine like a 2N3904 or a 2N2222.

Many of us do not use those Japanese transistors. Instead we use BCxxx European transistors or 2Nxxxx American trasnsistors,
