Can a faulty power supply cause random reboots in a computer?

My computer has been randomly rebooting, and I suspect the power supply might be the issue. What are the signs that a power supply is failing, and how can I diagnose if it’s causing the problem?

Try another power supply. If the effect vanishes, the old power supply is faulty. If the effect persists, the power supply is not the cause.

Your computer randomly reboots.
Also, is this a windows computer?
If so Access Windows Event Viewer to check for error messages around the time of reboots
Disable automatic restart option within Windows settings.
Your graphic cardmay be overheating.
Hold Windows key and press R
Type sysdm.cpl and press Enter
Select Advanced tab
Click Settings from the Startup and Recovery section
Uncheck the option Automatically restart option in System Failure section.
Your drivers; if they are not updated, they can also cause a reboot.

I just repaired mine, it collected a lot of dust, cat hair, and I removed old CPU
thermal grease and added new. 2'ond time I have done this over ~ 10 years.
Note used air compressor to blow out cpu heat sink, PC power supply, and
motherboard.

You can also log at windows logs for possible startup and shutdown causes.

I had a similar problem and what fixed it for me was cleaning the ram sticks.
They accumulated dust overtime.
Try cleaning,if that doesn't work then you can probably try replacing the power supply.

Yes, it is possible. If your PC restarts without warning, may be PSU is unable to supply sufficient voltage or current.
