This project calls for a (2.2uF 150VDC) I have a recycled capacitor (MKT 2.2 J 250) I have no idea, can this be used ???. And this is written on the side of the capacitor, MKT 1.60.60 FMD DIN 44122 X 1.

Any help please.

About a different but a relevent subject, I've seen capacitors with J marking, like 123 J for example. what does that mean? how many Js in a Farad?

Yevgeni.

Yevgeni,

If a capacitor is marked like this 123, it just means 12+3zeros = 12 + 000 = 12000pF = 12 nF. And that's exactly the way you write it too. Value is in pF (PicoFarads). The letters added to the value is the tolerance.
D -> 0.5pF
F -> 1%
G -> 2%
H -> 3%
J -> 5%
K -> 10%
M -> 20%
P -> +100, -0%
Z -> +80, -20%
