Nope, not wasting my time with him. No matter what you say, he turns
it all around. I don't believe I've ever run into anyone quite like
him, other then when I use to do work for that fire
detection/suppression company I mentioned, back in the 80s. We use to
do a lot of work in a facility in Massillon, Ohio. I think they called
it Massillon State Hospital. Oh, now he'll make some snide remark
about it I'm sure.

I've held my tongue on this bloody fellow for a long time. You all
know that.

Norm,

Hey there! Perhaps this is his way of initiating me back into the
fold? :) It sounds like all of you have had a taste of his harassment
at one time or another?

Actually it was you who tried to turn it around, Al. When you
realized you'd blundered about tolerance, you tried to change
what I said into something else.
I don't believe I've ever run into anyone quite
like him...

Hanging around this newsgroup you're not likely to either.

And your comment above wasn't snide?
I've held my tongue on this bloody fellow for a long
time. You all know that.

Kindly remove your tongue at once. That is disgusting. :^)

BTW, what was that you said about being finished with this thread
several posts back?

That's funny, I've given magnetic contacts a few taps with the end of a
screwdriver and had them start working again (They got replaced anyway)....

So have I.

That hasn't been my experience, I've had to replace EOLR's that were toast
and the panel was just fine...

That hasn't been my experience. I remember being called in to service a
fire alarm panel. An exterior bell had taken damage from a lightning
strike on a fence adjacent to it. The green light on the FACP was "on",
no troubles showing. Yet you couldn't get the sucker to alarm or
respond to opens for anything. When you look closer, the only thing
that wasn't "fried" on the mother board was the freekin' Power ON LED.

Hmmm..... I've always been told, "There is no way to predict how Lightning
will or won't behave"... There have been cases were the Grounding electrodes
provided the path for the Lightning to enter into the building's electrical
system...

Dang. Now you've gone and done it. You've disagreed with something the
Guru's said. Now you will face the WOG (Wrath Of the Guru). You will
then experience ABSI (Attack By Subtle Innuendo) and this will escalate
quickly to wild stories about how you piloted a Boeing Passenger
Jet-Liner while you were inverted (or while you were standing up and the
plane was inverted or while you were sitting down and the stewardesses
were inverted - anyway while *something* was inverted or diverted or
reverted).

And quit posting his "tagline" when you respond!!!

Bass couldn't be the life of the party in a graveyard.
The jackass exists for no other reason than to annoy people. Like I
said a few weeks ago, it's your turn on the Bassomatic, Al.

Whatever its value was when made, it will
remain at that same value permanently.

http://industrial.panasonic.com/www-data/pdf/AOA0000/AOA0000CE25.pdf

now go to page 2 of the pdf and read this:

1. Do not store Hot-Molded, Fixed Carbon Composition Resistors (hereafter
called the resistors) in a hot and/or humid
place. Oth er wise, they will absorb moisture, and the resistance values
will change over time. For long-term storage,
keep the tem per a ture and humidity low (25 °C and 45 % RH max

Now some excuse to mister Columbo would be a nice thing, but even a better
thing....shut the **** off...............

Thank you for taking the time to post this link. It baffles me why
Robert jumped off the edge on this one, but he does have a habit of
doing that from what I've seen here on this news group. No apology
will be forthcoming as none usually is when he does something like
this. I really don't have to hear one either because I don't really
care.

Again, thanks for the great resource on resistors. I may use this
information in an upcoming SSI story. I'm deciding whether to use
Robert's comments as a counterpoint to my own :). Maybe we'll get him
some national exposure in a print medium yet! What do you guys think,
would you like to see Robert's quotes in print? I'm permitted to do
this simply because it's a public media where there is no expectation
of privacy or confidentiality. Comments??

Get a grip Al, its bad enough seeing his drivel in this forum, now you want
to put it in one of the trade rags, RLB would absolutely love it, he'd add
it to his tag line.

Only in the Sears and Roebuck catelog that is convinently placed in the
outhouse, to be used only when the paper roll is empty.

That is precisely what I said. It is also where Al was precisely
wrong.

Mr. Bass:

Which gives you greater pleasure: getting the facts right or exposing
someone's error?

To everyone else: same question.

Wrong, Al. What I write is copyright protected, regardless where
I write it. Copyright has nothing to do with privacy or

Both.

To most who posted to this thread getting the facts right is
irrelevant.
