Looks vintage (obviously)
Some kind of Resistance Decade Box?
With adjustable Capacitors too?

Old surplus equipment... I don't think it's 'testing equipment' so to speak... like a meter.
Looks as though it's a combination of adjustable components... You can choose a resistance value, capacitance value, etc for use in troubleshooting or development...

Im curious though.. when will we know?

It definitely is a piece of test equipment.

Check the calibration date on it. You may be surprised. (it may be a little hard to read). Last calibrated 2011, was due for recalibration in 2013. It was still in service quite recently.

Hmm,
I tried and couldn't read the calibration sticker. (But I did try).
A capacitor Analyzer Resistance Bridge?
Old Ham gear?

Haha, my uncle wants to play too!!
He said a 'voltage divider' of some kind.

I would say some sort of resistor/capacitor standard for calibrating other test gear.
Very interesting bit of kit, what ever it is!

Hmmm, some clues. This one was operated at 18kV (so I'm told) and it has two things in common with sheep.

OK, like a sheep, it has 4 legs.

And the other thing is an awful pun on something to do with wool...

Never heard of a Wheatstone bridge......Ohhh, of course..'You' would cross a Wheatstone bridge regularly with sheep jumping off!! Does it happen on your way to work or on your way home?

Actually, this text was with the above picture.
"A Wheatstone bridge is an electrical circuit invented by Samuel Hunter Christie in 1833 and improved and popularized by Sir Charles Wheatstone in 1843."

So, I should have read it to the full stop lol. Will I ever learn!!

I don't know if it is a Wheatstone bridge, looks a bit like one. Sheep shearer, I think you meant to say something else
