Ir network link

before you say there is one on here already, i know being in australia components are limited and cant get any of them for it of the 74hs.
Is there any other schematics around for ir network links?
what would be better is if it could be usb network link so i can get better than 10mbs.
If anyone can point me in directions to some schematics for more ir links i would be most greatful
