i want to built a step down tr (230v to 12v) by high pressure sodium fixture chock buy combining 2 of them one for primary and one for secondary
note: chock has about (250-300)turn
but how i can connect primary coil to main(230v 50hz)and not happen short circuit ??????

Well... You need to buy one. Don't mess with DIY stuff you are connecting to mains anywhere between 100-24VAC

I have reused MOT's microwave oven transformers by rewinding the secondary. But there very inefficent. Don't do what you plan to, the only green you will see is in the cemetery. Not worth the risk.
