I was wondering if anyone was using a PC oscilloscope. And if they really have any practical use in electronics . What would be the best set up to use, to be the most useful.

Hey!

i once saw shematics for oscilloscope which has many led diodes used like display it was sooo cool and i can't find that shematics anywhere now! Does somebody maybe have it??

I think PC oscilloscope is too senstive and if you are afraid for your motherboard not recomended for serious use! That is just my opinion...

It seems the only thing to a PC oscilloscope is the display. Else, the electronics hardware is the important part.

Ofcourse hardware is very important. Is there a way to build your own hobby oscilloscope cheap like one with LEDs i mentioned?

Here is a possible recepie, You will need a really fast ADC to sample the input waveforms then a fast SRAM or FIFO to store the captured samples & a microcontroller to transfer the captured data to PC. On PC you can process the waveform (fourier, rms, peak, avg, freq, etc.).
