Hello,

Did you see the remark in post #515?
The supply bypass cap' does not need to be bipolar, that is just a quirk of the sim' package that I use.
It makes nice schematics which is why I use it.

The voltage is not that importent, as long it is more than about 1.5 times the voltage supplied.

C1 and C2 just have different values.
C1 will probably be ceramic of about 50V or so. The actual voltage value is not particularly important. High voltage types will be more expensive.
C2 can be from 15V upwards. It just depends on what you can find.
Where are you looking for your bits? (No smut please).

Can i ask how you know C1 would probably be ceramic ? , is it due to position in the circuit or voltage, or is it just experience, there are so many variants of componants i dont know which ones to choose, is it also dependant on aplication, as in amplification and RF that use componants that wont cause intifearance, i notice compiling a list of parts is one of the hardest parts of electronics, along with qorking out what voltage should be where, (lots of math involved), the practical part isnt to difficult, well most of it :)

Hello,

Have a look at the attached PDF.
Page 10.5 will show you info on capacitors.
Page 10.21 will show you info on resistors.

You have to log into the Farnell UK website and then enter the part number in the search box.

So it turns out, some of that lot that i ordered was out of stock, managed to cancel the order and re order some alternatives along with some BNC connectors and some more componants for the amp, as the MPSA42s were shot i have ordered some MPSA92s for the oppersit side of the circuit, havent tested any of them but thought if one side has blown possibly the same on the other side have blown, also ordered some resistors and more caps which i think may need replacing, i will list what i have ordered and for where soon

Hello,

If you need to buy IC sockets, go for the turned ones:
ic-socket-contact-types.gif
I have had some bad experiences with the dual leaf types.

If you have some then yes. If not buy some 8 pins sockets.
