Switch-mode Nicad charger failure

The 24volt battery discharger/charger for my Yamaha electric bike has stopped working.  No repair facility, but a new one costs

buy a cheap car or bike battery charger and add a capacitance multiplayer, if your worried about overcharging use a wall outlet timer.

Hi Mooncat,

Is it dead or does the discharge part still work? Do you have a schematic to post? Some pictures of the internals perhaps? Have you checked for fuses (might be soldered to the PCB)? Have you measured the temp switch inside the battery for open circuit?
