weirdest speaker yet

i would guess most of you know how normal speakers work, with just a cone and all. but even the weirder ones still have a vibration created with a varying current going through a conductor to create a magnetic field.
but i recently came across something that is very different
and i have no idea how it works.
it has something to do with "plasma arcs"
and a finished one has to have a gas supply (?!?!)

i think i understand it now!
the signal is transfered into varying amounts of gas in a glass globe, so the flame gets produces more/less heat wich creates a vibration in the air with pure pressure
crazy!
its supposed to sound really good
