The conversion of anything to perfect sine wave is very-very difficult... And it is more difficult with the voltages and power you want.

No alcohol does not affect it. I dont know if you use a strong one what happens.
I usually spray both sides (copper side and component side) with PLASTIK from Cramolin. (insulating spray) but you dont have to do it. It Wont Leave.
When I spray it I dont touch the silkscreen because the letters come off with the spray, (It has a little more alcohol...) but when it dries it leaves a nice and shiny finish -
Billy where did you get the Press'n'Peel paper? Is there someone in Greece importing it?

This one is with plain paper.

After I etch and drill my pcb, I print (on Laser printer) the silkscreen mirrored and I iron it on the pcb. I use HP glossy photo paper but plain paper still have good results. :)

About a year ago I discovered a TDA1524 in a dismantled car radio, when I looked the datasheet I liked It and I wanted to use it. I desoldered the ic and tested it in a breadboard with analog potensiometers (worked fine). The same time I ordered some digital potensimeters from maxim, but I never tested it... -
The datasheet has some good schematics.
A Friend, made one and works very well. :)
The only problem is to find a widerange power amplifier for the output stage -
Try DS1802 from MAXIM.
It works both with microcontroller and push buttons ;)
The best for stereo audio in my opinion :) -
The green thing is insulating material to protect the copper from humidity and corrosion

You must use a coaxial cable in order not to have noise in your signal. get a coaxial and put the connectors you like :P
The TTL output is fixed as I said before. you cant put a dc offset. 4 Volts is also OK for TTL. -
Maybe it is not an acoustic generator. What is the max frequency yo can get?
TTL output : here the width of the output is fixed at 5Vp-p. The low is at 0V and the high is at 5V. This is suitable for digital electronic circuits with gates etc.
50Ohm output is the normal output. the width is not fixed and you can specify the output width with a knob probably marked gain or something.And yes it is its internal resistance. use a coaxial cable.
Sweep in is propably an input which controls the output (like modulation) but I'm not sure.
The dc offset value is the value that ur signal is around zero. For exaple a normal sine wave signal with no dc offset has an average value of 0. If you put a dc offset of +5V this value will be 5V. My poor english cant make it easier, check the attachment

If I understand you need a box that contains a number of adjustable timers that start counting when you press a start button.
You can do it with a monostable multivibrator (with 555, or tranzistors). -
I used for a while FeCL3. It leaves yellow stains everywhere, I hate that. It also takes a lot of time. requires hot water.
Now I am using Peridrol+something that I cant tell it in english. It is quite fast. It is easier to see through. It does not need any water. When I'm done i store it for one or two days max and it is reuseable. To dispose it I pour it in the drain with plenty of water. :) -
Check the cable from the pc to monitor. Maybe the monitor gets no input and stays in stand-by mode.

The 38Khz signal is only the carrier of the signal. Commercial IR receivers (like TSOP17xx etc) give as an output only the data and they filter the carrier. So the rest circuit has nothing to do with the 38Khz carrier.

20 years old? I don't think so. 2years maybe. We have the same oscilloscopes in a lab at my school. they don't look very old. I don't think the technology required for this machine was invented 20 years ago...
by the way, where did you get it and how much? -
Before some time I was looking for a method to make pcb's, and I saw this method.
I tried it with a simple text photocopy that I had and the results was not bad. The text was transfered on the copper and was etched nicely.
I didn't tried this method more because I don't have a laser printer and I dislike photocopy shops. :P -
Check this simulator of 555 timer.

You can use the TC7660 (from microchip I think ???) which is for this job. It takes gnd and +5V and gives you your -5V. ;)

I think you can them open with Corel Photo Paint or Corel Draw ;)
