merriar
I would like to build a water leak detector which has two probes which would sit just off the floor and when any water leaked onto the floor it would provide electrical continuity to an electronic circuit which would provide enough current to drive a 24v relay.I'm going to install this below my air conditioner condensate pan so if the line plugs up and the pan overflows with water, it shuts off my A/C unit so my carpet does not get soaked. I am an electrician and can handle the higher voltage end but need help designing the electronic part of the system.
IanP
I don't know where you live but go to your local electronic/hobby shop and buy yourself a kit of Water Indicator or something similar. This kit will come with circuit diagram, PCB and all components and the only thing that you may have to add will be a relay to handle higher voltage. MP
Here is a start. Hope it is helpful. I am not sure where it came from, but I think hotwaterwizard posted it originally.MP
