Shahriar Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 HiI have two questions...1- Does anybody know how Laptop power supplies Or Mobile Chargers work?I think they are very similar to each other. They are very small and light. They are very lighter than usual Switching power supplies...2- There are usually a cylindrical part on the wires which connects the power supply to laptop or the wire which connects the Joypad to palystation. What is Inside that?ThanX in advance.Shahriar Quote
trigger Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 1. I am not sure what you are mentioning about. But those adaptors are mostly switching mode power supply with low current ouput.2. cylindrical part on the wires are ferrite which used to shield the high frequency noise that may affect the digital data transfer . Guest Alun Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 The box that you connect to the mains containg a switching power supply that converts 240VAC to about 18 to 20VDC.There is another power supply built in to the laptop, this is responsible for charging the batteries and for the +&-12 +&-15V and 3V supplys or watever modern computers use.
